Smoke, music and friendly rivalry fill the rodeo grounds as more than 250 barbecue teams compete during this three-day Houston tradition. A ticket includes a brisket plate with beans and chips at the Chuckwagon, plus access to public entertainment areas such as the Garden Stage and Rockin’ Bar-B-Que Saloon. Most team tents require invitations, so plan around the public spaces rather than expecting entry to every cook site. Carnival rides and games are extra.
