On a String joins Hyperreal Film Club’s Discovery Zone Roadshow, a curated program built around films beyond the usual multiplex rotation. Filmmaker Isabel Hagen follows a Juilliard-trained violist navigating freelance work, awkward encounters and family life in New York, finding comedy in the distance between musical ambition and making a living. Settle into the East Austin film club for an independent-film evening with a specific point of view. Doors open at 7 p.m. before the 7:30 screening.
