Opening of Twisted, Plaited, Sculpted: Collection of the Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation brings a selection of Japanese bamboo art to the Crow Museum of Asian Art in Dallas. The show features seventeen artists across twenty-two works, including pieces by Living National Treasures Fujinuma Noboru and Fujitsuka Shosei. Bamboo art is woven, plaited and reshaped from a natural plant, which makes every piece a close look at how far this craft can be pushed.
